Azerbaijani singer EMIN joins forces with Azerbaijani-Armenian pop star JONY on Камин, a Russian-language pop ballad about heartbreak, painful memories and the difficulty of letting go of someone once loved. The collaboration places emotional storytelling at the centre of the record.
The song moves at a gentle pace, with a melodic arrangement creating space for both vocalists to express the weight of the lyrics. Their voices carry a sense of disappointment as they revisit a relationship filled with broken promises and fading affection. The lyrics paint a picture of someone sitting beside a fireplace at six in the morning, watching memories burn while struggling to accept that the relationship has ended. The repeated chorus reinforces the feeling of emotional emptiness.
Originally released on March 27, 2020, the single appeared through Atlantic Records Russia and later featured on EMIN’s 2023 album, 44, released under Lotus Music. JONY contributed to the songwriting and production alongside Mikhail Malakhin, making the collaboration an important creative partnership between the two performers.
One of the strongest moments comes in the chorus, where the image of a photograph burning in the fireplace becomes a symbol of memories that refuse to disappear. The closing repetition of the word meaning emptiness leaves the listener with the same sense of loss that runs throughout the record.
This release will appeal to listeners who appreciate Russian pop, emotional duets and relationship-centred songwriting. It suits quiet evenings and moments of reflection, especially when memories of a past relationship are difficult to put aside. The combination of both voices gives the song much of its lasting appeal.
